“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” C. Rogers

The Quiet Revolution Movement in Italy and beyond was born in mid-2019 in anticipation of the organization of the XVI International PCA Forum in Italy.
Even though there was already great excitement before, as can be seen, for example, from the crowdfunding for Guinea Bissau started with Mirella’s first trip to Africa in 2015.To learn more about the project, we invite you to look at the photos, documents and drawings present in the squares at the top of the photograph “Guinea Bissau” on the “Studying in a shouting country” page, as well as reading the description of the project on the first page and looking at the pages of the “Contributions” to see HOW MANY WE ARE!!!!! The latest crowdfunding, on which fundraising is still active, is: “Studying in a country that shouts: Free to Study”.

Rogers has been defined a “Quiet Revolutionary” and he wrote that: “To the degree that each of us is willing to be himself, then he finds not only himself changing, but he finds other people to whom he relates are also changing” and thus he finds that he’s changing the world too. Like many waves generated by a flat pebble thrown into the water. And, in our experience, with the values and spirit of the Person-Centered Approach – empathy, congruence, unconditional acceptance, trust above all – this is possible.

BRIEF PRESENTATION OF THE INSTITUTIONS AND METHODS OF SPREADING THE PCA AROUND THE MOVEMENT OF THE QUIET REVOLUTION IN ITALY AND BEYOND

Around the Quiet Revolution Movement in Italy, and not only, there are the following structures, institutional and non-institutional, of Rogerian education and training (Sheet A. the names in bold indicate that the people are within the Bibliography):

IN ITALY

She is an Anthropologist with a year of field experience in Chiapas and repeated returns, in Palestine (10 months), in the Balkans with various missions. Currently a teacher of Italian for foreigners and in training for the three-year course in Rogerian counseling.

Furthermore, many of us train at the World of Thomas Gordon for effective communication in Lombardia, Liguria, Toscana, Lazio, Abruzzo, Campania, Sicilia.
With many colleagues of other approaches with whom we collaborate such as Rocco Mondello, Francesco Purita, and many others, the basic approach is Rogerian

But above all, the Rogerian way of being is transmitted with therapies and counseling work [for example, only M.M. D’Ippolito has 218 individual and 81 family therapies concluded and 22 in progress (as of February 2025), G. Prignano works with the “Ritmi dell’Io” in Napoli and the list would be endless].

Many people who have already undergone therapy and who have been taught the Rogerian way of being occupy important positions in Italy and have supported us and continue to support us from above.
In fact, we have received the Patronage for the XVI International PCA Forum in Italy (November 2022) from the Azienda Ospedaliero-universitaria Policlinico Umberto I – Università Sapienza di Roma and from the Department of Humanistic Studies of the Federico II University of Naples.
